Challenge
Around 30 technical consultants formulated diets for dairy farms in five VBA spreadsheets with over 100 tabs and close to ten thousand formulas. Each consultant had their own copy. There was no single source for the feed database: dozens of versions circulated at once, consolidated by hand over e-mail and WhatsApp. When someone left the company, the data left with their laptop.
Solution
We built a formulation system on Odoo 18 Community with two custom modules: a feed database with dozens of nutritional fields and a diet-formulation module with visual alerts, diet comparison and PDF reports for the farmer. Each consultant sees their own customers; management sees everything. We migrated every consultant's spreadsheets, built an export in the format that feeds the client's Power BI and delivered a user manual. The system runs on dev, test and production environments on infrastructure we also operate.
